The aim of the investigation of MPA is determine sound absorbing lining possibilities for passenger compartment windows. Micro perforated variant have been investigated by experiments. The main part of the energy dissipation takes place in the small gap between the panels. The second concept is a double perforated panel, consisting of two parallel, perforated panels separated by a small distance. The results indicate that a relatively large absorption bandwidth can be obtained for a cylinder with small radius. The concept has been investigated primarily by measurements using the Impedance tube.
